Portrait Pricing Information

The pricing of a custom portrait is based on several key factors:

  • Number of subjects (people or pets) in the painting.

  • How much of the subject is depicted (headshot, half-body, or full-body).

  • Size of the painting

  • Intricacy of clothing, jewelry, and props, as more detailed elements do require additional time.

  • Complexity of the background or setting

My pricing formula begins once I have answers to these questions.

Pricing starts at $1,000 for a small 8"x10" headshot of one person.

Please feel free to inquire with any questions or for a more personalized quote. I'm happy to discuss options that suit your vision and budget.

Well, obviously, I can't charge you $1,000,000.00 for a painting.  But I would say to you what I’d say to my family.  In giving your best, with your whole heart… don’t think in terms of dollar signs.  Think: quality, and workmanship, and consider how my joy will this bring to the recipient.

Having a portrait created is an engaging and delightful process. I strive to understand your vision through email and phone communication. I'm here to answer your questions about pricing, clothing choices, setting options, mood preferences, and the ideal size for your portrait to harmonize with your space.

My aim is to create exquisite oil portrait commissions, following a meticulous procedure to meet the highest standards.

I typically work from high-resolution digital files, unless that's not possible.

If you'd like a photoshoot, it's available for $250, which includes travel time in the New Orleans or Baton Rouge areas. (This fee is deducted from the portrait's deposit.)

Clients are often pleased to discover that the portrait sitting typically lasts less than 2 hours. During this session, I capture 100-200 photos. From this collection, I carefully curate the best images. After editing, I'll send you the best photos.

Size and estimates are determined once we know the photo(s) that will be used.

To start a commission, a 50% deposit is required upfront.

Then the painting process begins.

I will happily work with you to accommodate small changes. Your satisfaction is my primary concern.

A portrait is a very time-consuming process. Painting time will usually average 4-5 weeks with one or two subjects in the painting. Allow 2 to 3 months for portraits with several people. A complicated background can add even more time to the process. These are merely general guidelines aimed at helping you understand the allotted time. These time frames apply unless you're getting a very small portrait, a larger one with much intricate detail, or if I am working on several projects.

Updates will be sent to you throughout the progress.

Delivery of portrait to the Jindal family.

In the end the painting will be as original and priceless to the owner as the people within it.

It will be a true heirloom, enjoyed for generations to come.

The remaining balance due upon completion. Feel free to reach out for more details about your specific portrait needs.

Any travel, framing and shipping expenses and sales tax are in addition to the portrait estimate.
